Madeleine McCann detectives still have not searched the home of chief suspect Christian Brueckner's former partner, despite revelations he called her on the night the three-year-old disappeared.
The woman made the shocking admission at Brueckner's trial in Germany that he had phoned her to say he was driving to her house in Portugal - and that she did not know if he had arrived.
Brueckner, currently on trial accused of sex crimes unrelated to the May 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann, allegedly told his ex that he had been in Tomar that night, a 'renowned paedophile hub', according to The Sun.
It has been revealed the woman's father and the German prosecutor insisted police investigate the
compound near Praia de Luz in 2022, but they never came.
Despite being deemed responsible for Madeleine's 'abduction and murder' by German police four years, Brueckner has still not been charged. He denies the allegations.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said they gave the information about the house to the Portuguese police but 'I don't know if they are going to doing anything'.

Advertisement'We can only ask them,' he said, as reported by The Sun. 'We can't go on our own.'The woman's father also told The Sun on Sunday he had told the German FBI-equivalent they 'must dig up the garden and home there'.
Madeleine McCann disappeared from the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.The McCanns were themselves given 'arguido' suspect status in September 2007, which was lifted when the case was archived in July 2008 for lack of evidence.
The family kept the investigation open with private detectives until Scotland Yard opened its own enquiry in 2011.
Since then, German police in Braunschweig have picked up the case after identifying a convicted paedophile as a new suspect.
German prosecutor Hans Wolters said evidence included phone analysis placing the suspect at the Ocean Club resort, and an alleged confession Brueckner made to a friend.
Brueckner was officially named as a suspect in April 2022 after his yellow and white VW T3 Westfalia campervan was reportedly spotted near the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal where Madeleine vanished.
Brueckner has denied he was in the area at the time and distanced himself from the allegations against him.

Brueckner is currently on trial accused of raping three women and assaulting children between 2000 and 2017 in the Algarve.
He was jailed in 2019 for seven years after being convicted of raping an elderly woman in the Algarve in 2005.
His current trial started in February and has heard from witnesses who say they saw Brueckner in harrowing sex tapes which showed the rape of an elderly woman and a young girl.
Brueckner's defence have tried several times to have witnesses ruled out saying the case is unfair and prejudiced against their client because of the link to Madeleine but all attempts have so far failed.
