King's speech was the most watched programme on Christmas Day, with 7.8
milion people tuning in across six channels.
The 10-minute Christmas Broadcast attracted 5.9m viewers on BBC One and 716,000 on ITV.While still the most watched programme of the day, it attracted far fewer viewers than last year when a record-breaking 10.6m tuned in to hear Charles's reflections on the death of the late Queen in his first address as monarch.
The BBC's programmes took nine out of the top ten most-watched slots and for the first time in decades ITV's flagship soap opera, Coronation Street, did not feature on the list.
