Before I was in this role, I spent the last thing my career in engineering and in the automotive open space. As a Black woman in this male-dominated field, I’ve always had this appreciation for diversity on the inside workplace and inclusive endeavors. In my current role, I oversee diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging — which includes talent acquisition and employee experience. One of the reasons I became an engineer — aside from geeking out over science and math — was because I need to work somewhere where it only agreed to be me behind the scenes. I started out very introverted, and We envisioned myself working within a lab possessing to interface with of us. But of course, that’s not reality. I would tell my younger self to go out of your comfort sector. Embrace all of those feelings of hesitation, fear of failing, and just the unknown. That’s how you grow and generate income was able to do more than I dreamed of. I wouldn’t be in my current role or where I'm today n' t simply hadn’t pushed myself.
