Lana Del Rey has broken her silence following her controversial Glastonbury gig after it was cut short.

The singer, 38, kept fans at the Park Stage waiting for half an hour beyond her scheduled start time, then bizarrely blamed the fact she was getting her hair done for her tardiness - only for her hairdresser to appear on stage to finish tending to her tresses as she sang.

As she sat down to perform, domino4d her hairstylist came on stage to come out her elaborate up-do and let her locks loose.

The star's set had been due to end at 11.45pm, but was still going on more than 15 minutes later and because of the site's curfew, her microphone was then cut mid-performance as she sang White Mustang.

American recording artist Lana has now spoken out about the incident, admitting at London's BST Hyde Park on Sunday: 'Sorry about that.'

Lana made light of last month's situation as she performed in the UK capital this weekend despite some of her fans crying after feeling let down at Glastonbury.

When introducing her track Diet Mountain Dew on Sunday, she joked: 'I think is where I got cut off last time.

Sorry about that.'

Referencing the situation again before performing her hit Video Games, she said: 'It's worth it if the power is cut.'

Glastonbury has a strict midnight curfew which Lana was unable to keep to after arriving on stage late.

After performing her song Cherry at the time, she said: 'Thank you so much, I'm so happy to be here.

"I was so f***ing late and I am about to rush this set.

'If they cut power, they cut power, I'm super f***ing sorry. My hair takes so long to do.

'Let's keep on running the set as it's supposed to go.'
