Children love watching seeds germinate. This is true especially when seeds sprout quickly. Alfalfa ( Medicago indica) is a very easy to cultivate seed which should develop in the next week. Sprinkle a small quantity of alfalfa seeds over a damp paper towel to observe them germinate and grow.

You Will Need:
a packet of alfalfa seeds (about 1.5g)
a saucer or small plate
Three paper towels
A small spray mister or water Jug

How to Grow:
Get 3 pieces of paper towel, شركات بيع التقاوى فى مصر then place them on top of one another flat on a table.
Then, drain the water out of the plate. The paper towel must be damp but the seeds should not be floating in water.
Place the seeds in a uniform manner on the towel.
Put the paper towel on a sunny window and then add water to prevent the paper towel from drying out. To moisten seeds, make use of a spray bottle, or mister to do so. You can also add water to the saucer with an ice cube or small jug.
Make sure to check your seeds each day to observe how they're growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa seed is easy to cultivate and should begin to be able to germinate in just 2-6 days. Here are some issues to be aware of in the event that your seeds do not germinate in this time.

Too dry Seeds require water in order to grow. Seeds of alfalfa absorb approximately 50% of their weight in water prior to they germinate, which makes them appear swollen. Seeds that aren't dry enough are not able to sprout. You can add more water to the plate until the seeds are moist but not floating in the water. You can also soak the seeds over night; but make sure you drain them and rinse them with clean water before spreading them on the paper towel.

Too wet:If the seeds are too moist, their new roots and shoots may rot before they get a chance to grow. The seeds may also become moldy. While it's acceptable for the paper towel and seeds to remain damp however they shouldn't be submerged in water. Drain excess water from the plate each time you mist or water your seeds.

Too cold or too hot Alfalfa thrives in temperatures between 20 and 25°C. If you're growing your seeds indoors during winter, put them in a warm location. If you are growing your seeds in very hot temperatures, it is possible to water them more often since they'll dry out quicker.
