Cultural Appropriation and Donkeys
Whether you think of it as an ancestor or a descendant domestic donkey (Equus africanus asinus) is one of the hoofed mammals belonging to the family of Equidae. Originally from Africa The domestic donkey is derived from African wild ass. Depending on the species domestic donkeys are classified as subspecies or as a distinct species.
Arse vs. ass
'Arse' is a British Slang term for a'stupid person', but is it an abbreviation for
Class-Room 'ass'? There's some confusion because both are derived from horses, which are a type of animal. In the USA the proper term for
Class-room Donkeys is 'Ass'.
The word"arse" originated as an innocuous term used to describe the body part, but has since become an unpopular word. "Ass" was an alternative to the arse word in the 19th century. It was originally a term used to describe a group of horselike animals, but in the 1860s it was transformed into an informal term for a posterior. It is also used in the expression "to arse around'. "To make an ass of oneself" also uses the word "ass" that is connected to "to arse around". However, there are numerous threads of meaning that come from arse that are not present in the word "ass".
Appropriateness in popular Culture
In many cases, we witness instances in which a dominant culture takes elements from a minority group's culture. This is referred to as cultural appropriation, could result in a lack of respect from members of minority groups. For example, whether you wear an Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface for Halloween, a lot of Black people feel that it is a form of patronizing behavior.
In addition to adopting elements of minorities' cultures, a dominant group can also use intellectual property from the minority group. This can be done by blackfishing, as an example. It is important to remember that people of different skin tones have a history of being marginalized and disenfranchised. Consider, for instance the history of black people being marginalized when you see someone in an outfit that resembles blackface.
