The domestic donkey (Equus Africanus asinus) is a hoof-mammal that belongs to the family of Equidae. Originating from Africa The domestic donkey is derived from the African wild ass. Depending on the species domestic donkeys may be classified as subspecies or as a separate species.

Arse vs. ass

"Arse" is a British slang term for Gagging a "stupid person" however, it could also be used as synonym for "ass". This is the source of confusion since both are based upon a group of horselike creatures. In the USA the proper term for Gagging the donkey is 'Ass'.

Arse was initially an inoffensive term that refers to an organ or part of the body. However it has since evolved into an offensive term. In the 19th century, 'ass was a term that evolved as an alternative to arse. It was originally used to describe an animal that resembled horses however, in the 1860s it became an expression of an a posterior. It is also used in the expression 'to snooze around'. "To make an ass out of oneself" also makes use of the word "ass" that is related to "to arse around". There are many meanings of arse that aren't found in 'ass.

Appropriateness in popular Culture

There are many instances where the dominant culture takes elements of a minority's culture. This is referred to as cultural appropriation, could cause disdain from members of minority groups. Whether it is wearing a Native American headdress at a music festival or wearing blackface on Halloween, a lot of Black people feel that this is an act of patronizing.

In addition to adopting elements of cultures that are not native to the minority, a dominant group can also benefit from intellectual property of the minority group. Blackfishing is a prime instance. It is important to keep in mind that people with color have a history being excluded and marginalized. For Gagging instance, if you see a person of color dressed in blackface for Halloween take into consideration the history of black people being excluded.
