Cultural Appropriation and Donkeys
The domestic donkey (Equus Africanus asinus) is a hoof-mammal in the family Equidae. The African wild ass is the source of the domestic donkey, which originated from Africa. Depending on the species the domestic donkey could be classified as a subspecies within the wild ass or a distinct species.
Arse vs.
"Arse" is a British expression for a stupid person But is it an alternative to 'ass'? There's a bit of confusion here because both are based on horses, which are a type of animal. In the USA the correct term for the donkey is 'Ass'.
The word arse originated as an innocuous term used to describe the body part, but has since become an unpopular word. "Ass" was a variant of the arse term in the 19th century. It was originally a term used to describe horses or other animals but by the 1860s it evolved into an informal term for a posterior. It is also used in the phrase "to snort about". "To create an ass of oneself" also uses the word "ass" which is associated with "to arse around". There are many meanings to arse that aren't found in 'ass.
Appropriateness in popular Culture
We frequently see instances in which an established culture adopts elements from a minority's culture. This practice, called cultural appropriation, can result in feelings of disdain among minority group members. Many Black people consider this patronizing act, whether it's wearing a Native American headdress to a music festival or
futanari wearing blackface on Halloween.
In addition to incorporating elements of minorities' cultures The dominant group can also take advantage of intellectual property from the minority group. Blackfishing is just one example. It is important to keep in mind that people of different skin tones have a history of being marginalized and excluded. Think about,
futanari for instance the history of black people being marginalized when you see someone wearing costumes in blackface for Halloween.
