There is a lot of hype about saw palmetto as well as prostate supplements which contain the substance.
Largely, this will come from businesses that provide it and should be taken with a grain of salt. And while there are numerous benefits to taking it if you've prostate problems, it's in no way the prostadine bph (https://www.kirklandreporter.com/marketplace/prostadine-reviews-ingredients-side-effects-complaints/) "panacea" everyone makes it out to be.

Exclusively for fun, I from time to time read ads selling several saw palmetto remedies. And you know what's funny about them?
In order to make themselves stand out from one another, they are all telling customers that unless they've "their" brand, they are not getting the right type.
That you want an extract rather than a powder. Or that unless it is been treated with a unique process, it's almost worthless. In some ways, I am in agreement with this.
One study did show that about forty % of saw palmetto products (at time it was published some yrs ago -- issues have likely changed) were worthless and did absolutely nothing to help someone's enlarged prostate or prostatitis pain.
So should you stay away from saw palmetto as well as prostate supplements altogether?
