Signalis is a game that comes to life thanks to the rose engine and it is a straightforward classically inspired and pure, honest horror survival gaming experience with no repetitive filler content, that offers a unique sci-fi artistic style of horror and an emotional-driven story telling experience packaged by Japanese, German, sexy but still fitting art style.

Silent Hill Meets Ghost In The Shell Silent Hill Meets Ghost in The Shell Signalis Review Survival Horror Game
Gamers across all platforms such as Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 alongside Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch and PC can access it now, and in the coming months of February 2023, in physical form. It's also available through Xbox Game Pass.

Gameplay
Signalis offers a basic gameplay experience. is a tribute to the first classic survival games like quiet hill or resident evil. It's a top down view, pixel art, survival shooter with limited melee capabilities and an inventory of just six items to navigate through the world.

It is a sci fi only single-player narrative with a storyline that drives the drama home with a variety of weak melee weapons forcing the battle to be conducted at arms length like pistols and shotguns.

It is all interconnected rooms that you explore for keys or objects that aid in the puzzles by joining items into secure rooms that allow you to use the tools that you need to be able to survive.

There are enemies who are pushed when you don't have ammo in the shotguns, or pistols that you find in the game world as you attempt to understand why and how you're doing what you are doing on this mysterious world.

The game is initially straightforward and easy, however, you'll find that the difficulty gets more difficult as the game progresses, at times, to the point of exhaustion and with enemies that come back to life and pop out of vents and floors, and more, and simple, simple, but thrilling boss fights in a claustrophobic environment.

I'd say it's not the game's blame, but if you progress in the game significantly in the course of 2 or 3 hours in and then you take a break for a couple of days, coming back to the game can be a challenge since the game doesn't spoonfeed you what you were expected to do next. And with the map being difficult to comprehend, new players might be thrown off initially However, use guides and stretch your brain muscles trust me when I say that the effort is worth it.

The version of the enemy isn't as great for my liking, but it was made by two people, and I am able to accept it since what's available is mostly straightforward, classic and effective games that are designed to be survival horror.

Story
The story of the game takes place in a dystopian future and is presented in a way that forces you to think and ponder the ending and significance of the story rather than just complete the game, and get told what the story means. The game is designed to make you think about it.

Silent Hill Meets Ghost In The Shell - Signalis Review Survival Horror Game
I personally found the storytelling mechanics of the female workers and the male and female representation by machines in a supposedly communist work environment interesting.

I'm not going to go into the details to avoid spoilers So let me simply note that this isn't an easy story to digest and leaves you to determine, in my opinion the meaning behind things because it's not founded on logic or facts, per say.

Graphics/Performance
In terms of graphics and performance, Signalis the game, I won't be doing a deep analysis since it runs well and looks great because of its distinctive art style. It's fast and flawless on any device that you play it on, and I honestly hope it comes to mobile like iPhone and Android very soon.

I highly recommend playing it on an OLED Tv or Monitor because it's gorgeous.

Sound
In the realm of audio, take a listen:

For being done mostly by two people, I think it's sound production is quite simple, yet really effective at providing a thrilling adrenaline rush accompanied with a calmness that invigorate the whole experience into an exciting rollercoaster ride of survival fear and terror.

Achievements/Fan Service
On the achievements side, squareblogs.net the game is actually easy to get all the achievements and according to trueachievements.com, you can get them all with an 8 to 10 hours. You could even complete it faster if you are looking to speed-run it.

On the side of fan service to the matter, the anime Japanese depicted characters are cute, gorgeous, big eyes, and the feminine image is depicted in the art style and it feels appropriate and satisfying. So I rate the video a thumbs-up from a man of culture approved and if you don't think it's enough, I'm going to advise you to touch some grass right now. Stop the video and walk away.

Conclusion - Silent Hill Meets Ghost In The Shell Signalis survival horror game review
To conclude, I will declare that this is among those survival horror titles that be remembered in the history books as a basic yet extremely high-quality Indie developer. Success story game that I believe any fan of survival horror should enjoy. Particularly, the classical style, resident, evil as well as Silent Hill titles needs to take a look and play.

I don't replay most of my single-player games, therefore I'm not working towards more endings, however I'm happy and proud to have had the chance to play this unique journey into madness by the publisher of the rose engine.
